How Can We Respect Our Politiicans?

How in Heaven's name can we respect our Washington politicians when we see our community organizer President Obama, bid farewell to his press secretary by lamenting the paltry salary we the taxpayers forced him to slave for -- $172,000. The average American family gets by on one-third of what they were taxed to provide to Robert Gibbs. The President who has proclaimed that no American should garner more than $200,000 in yearly pay, describes the government pay of his aide as "modest?" It is the Audacity of Obama, so get over it and tax the $200,000 rich, not the "relatively modest" $172,000 ordinary pay.

In bidding a sort-of farewell to White House spokesman Robert Gibbs, he noted the "relatively modest pay" for which Gibbs has labored. In fact, he earns $172,200 in a nation where the average family income hovers around $55,000, unemployment is high, record foreclosures persist and wages for most folks are at best stagnant. People who were once willing to work for the wages of political public servants, leave their elected or appointed positions behind and go off to demand $50,000 to $75,000 for a one-hour appearance regaling Americans with the anecdotes of what they had learned on the taxpayers' dime.

During the Clinton administration, Hillary's loyal friend Lanny Davis was brought in as an official aide to the President. From that so-called modest salary of three to four times what the average American family earns, Lanny Davis was able to enhance his family's income with gigs assisting unseemly clients like third-world strongmen, bringing in another $100,000-a-month. Another Clinton appointee, Rahm Emanuel, was rewarded with a $16 million fortune in just one year after trading his government service position for "helping" the  private market.

We need to be reminded now that we have a new crop of Tea Party legislators arriving in Washington of the following truism.

So it's natural to labor hard in government, see what goes on a few blocks away and feel entitled to same. People who came to town to change the world, and fight for the working guy, wind up thinking that a salary that would be a king's ransom to most of their constituents is chicken feed. It's partly because they inevitably contrast themselves not with others in government, or cushier locales in the nonprofit world, but with the mightiest denizens of corporate America. In both of Barack Obama's autobiographies he states precisely that both of his fathers were Muslim, and that he, himself, was considered born into the Muslim faith because of his fathers' religion. He also wrote about his mentor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who was an open practicing Muslim at one point. In addition, a disproportionate percentage of Obama's close friends are or were practicing Muslims.

After being elected President of the United States, Barack Obama went overseas and explained to the Muslim world that he was a Muslim and he did it by describing his Kenyan father and the generations before his father as all Muslims. A Union official telling teachers to pray to God. What were they told to pray for? Higher pay, more vacations, better health benefits? Oh Lordy, Lord NO! League of Women Voters Describes 'Phony Patriotism'

Illinois' top League of Women Voters official, Executive Director Jan Czarnik, has described calling for a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance as "phony patriotism" - (Daily Herald) http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20101022/news/710239858/



The person who requested the Pledge of Allegiance is an Hispanic immigrant, Joe Ptak.

"My name is Joe Ptak and I live in Island Lake, Illinois. I attended the Joe Walsh-Melissa Bean 'forum' and I WAS THE INDIVIDUAL who stood up and wanted to know why the pledge of allegiance was not going to be recited … I thought it might have been an oversight. I was flabbergasted and stunned to hear the LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS moderator say to me, and the audience, that it was never part of their program at these events and will not allowed.

"Please keep in mind that this 'forum' was organized in Grayslake High School for the benefit of the students, who were asking the questions. Furthermore, there were numerous students present (gaining extra credit) as well as 350 adults and media who packed the auditorium." NPR, Juan Williams, and Bill O'

Twists and Turns of Life:

Bill O' goes on The View and blows the place up. Whoopie Goldberg & Joy Behar end up eating crow. Bill O' rides the wave of triumph every night for the next week. Juan Williams shows up to gloat with Bill O' and gets banished from NPR's Liberal Plantation, forever more. George Soros contributes $1.8 Million to NPR for its journalists. Now journalist Juan Williams gets to sue NPR for firing him and could end up with the $1.8 Million from Soros. Meanwhile, Republicans are threatening to defund NPR and not give anymore taxpayer money to them, once they come back into power.

In wake of the NPR controversy, Fox News gave Juan Williams an expanded role ... a new three-year contract that amounts to nearly $2 million, a considerable bump up from his previous salary.

Now we await the ACLU and NAACP to "Man Up" and come to the defense of Juan Williams - a black man who spoke his mind and strayed from the NPR Liberal Plantation.
