Religious Freedom in America?

You will not merely accept that Same Sex Marriage is the Law of the Land, but you WILL celebrate Same Sex Marriage in your business, in your church, in your schools, and in your home!

You can tell by the uproar over the recent Religious Freedom Restoration Act in Indiana that the Homosexual Rights Lobby is not at all about Homosexual Rights. They now have more Homosexual Rights than they know what to do with. What the Gay Mob is about is the destruction of the Christian Church in America. Christians are no longer permitted to tolerate, live and let live, or look the other way, but as said in the Florist's case: "the government will bring about your personal and professional ruin if you don't help CELEBRATE same-sex marriages." It is about removing protection for Freedom of Conscience from the US Constitution. The Gay Mob is about amending the First Amendment by eliminating: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

President Bill Clinton's remarks at the signing of the RELIGIOUS FREEDOM RESTORATION ACT on the White House South Lawn, November 16, 1993:
"The free exercise of religion has been called the first freedom, that which originally sparked the development of the full range of the Bill of Rights. Our Founders cared a lot about religion. And one of the reasons they worked so hard to get the First Amendment into the Bill of Rights at the head of the class is that they well understood what could happen to this country, how both religion and government could be perverted if there were not some space created and some protection provided. They knew that religion helps to give our people a character without which a democracy cannot survive. They knew that there needed to be a space of freedom between government and people of faith that otherwise government might usurp."

Government should be held to a very high level of proof before it interferes with someone’s free exercise of religion.

First Amendment to the United States Constitution  "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Quincy, Illinois Gestapo Police

Quincy, Illinois Police Department Releases Gestapo On Tea Party Grannies

In the U.S. we are supposed to have the right to peaceably assemble. It was guaranteed to us by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

A disturbing incident happened yesterday in Quincy, Illinois when two local Tea Party groups gathered to show their support for the U.S. Constitution. As they began singing the Star Spangled Banner, they were marched upon by Quincy, Illinois police dressed in riot gear. Many of these Tea Party people were older grandmothers and the police were undoubtedly sent there to intimidate them. It was a heartbreaking sight to see in our America - a line of Gestapo-looking police facing down peaceably assembled families.

After the event, the Quincy Police Department reported the Tea Party people as disorderly and willfully disobeying commands from the police. That police report was obviously not true, unless the police consider anti-Obama speech as disorderly conduct. Everything was captured on video by various participants.

This is serious and dangerous stuff. The role of the police in America is supposed to "protect" the people. This was an attempt by government to separate citizens from the police, to make the people fear the power of government. The police officers involved were abusing their power, and in the long run they were harming themselves, for the people will no longer respect their leadership.

In addition, at the same time that Quincy, Illinois ordered their Riot Police to stand down a gaggle of Tea Party grandmothers, there are sons and daughters of America risking lives and limbs in a foreign land to keep us free. Many of these soldiers have family members who are Tea Party supporters. If we are no longer free, what are our military forces fighting for? Perhaps we need  our soldiers to come home and protect our freedoms here under threat from our own government.
