He's Never Far from Back

Yes - Bill Clinton is never out of mind of the powers that be. Can't we just forget about him for Pete's sake? Or is it that we really yearn to return to those carefree times of yesteryear, when the Presidency was a titillating soap opera and the running of the country revolved around a young woman's blue dress, wars were ended for all time and our sophisticated military weaponry was untested against homicide bombers?
"The Survivor : Bill Clinton in the White House" by JOHN F. HARRIS ~ "According to Harris, 'the stereotype of Clinton as a supremely guileful and deceptive politician was essentially wrong.' Instead, he views Clinton as an insecure, needy man whose frequent shifts in direction and self-destructive behavior reflected not cunning but utter lack of self-control."

In Remembrance 2005

"That memory may their deed redeem,
When, like our sires, our sons are gone.
Spirit, that made those heros dare
To die, and leave their children free."
~~Emerson, 1837
Battle Hymn of the Republic is from rmcccentral.com, sequenced by Perfessor Bill Edwards.

Because of the nature of humankind, ever there will be wars. Two of my sons served in the Gulf War. When I was a young wife, my husband served three tours of duty in Vietnam. My father was too young to serve in World War I and too old for World War II. My grandfather tried to enlist in World War I, both in Canada and the U.S., but was rejected. Those two were lucky. My great grandfather was called up for the Boer War while living in Africa. My Virginia forefathers served in the War of Northern Agression, the War of 1812, the American Revolution and on back through the Colonial Wars.

I was reading "Tidbits on Terrorism" at Hyscience and a found a new link to ARGGHHH! I got this above idea from ARGGHHH! , who blogs on "Memorial Day 2005":
"I am the great-grandson of a soldier of the Civil War.
I am the grandson of a soldier of the Great War.
I am the son of a soldier of Korea, and Vietnam.
I was a "Brat".
I was a soldier.
I am still a soldier, albeit in the Retired Reserve.

ARGGHHH! then tells the story, via e-mails from a friend, of Lieutenant Leonard Cowherd, 1st Platoon, C 1/37 Armor, USMA 2003, who was killed yesterday in Iraq. Freedom is a costly goal, yet we who have known its joy cannot live without it. This is a heart-rending story.
"My son-in-law, 2LT Cowherd, was killed this morning in Iraq. He is the armor soldier currently being referred to in the news. Platoon Leader. USMA class of '03.

"My daughter has been staying with us since Leonard deployed. I was with her when the car pulled in the driveway and she was notified by the team from Ft Eustis tonight. Surreal is not the word.

"You can imagine that this is a numbing time for us.

"We expect an onslaught of details and issues tomorrow. I will be at home until such time as we are settled.

"I know you'll ask, 'Is there anything I can do?' I appreciate and I will not hesitate to call should something arise."

Donkeys Along Route 66?

Or are they Democrats? I was recently travelling along Route 66 in Arizona and my vehicle was plagued by a herd of what I thought were donkeys. I posted about it at Blatherings -Is this what is meant by "Get your kicks on Route 66"? Now I am reading at Reasoned Audacity, that they really are Democrats. I should have known!

|| Arizona Democrats - Always looking for a handout!

|| Are they wild burros, or are they Democrat Donkeys left behind by the working Gold Miners?

|| This Democrat fellow is the donkey Median Monitor of Route 66. It's a public road, which means that he owns it.

|| Welcome to Oatman, Arizona - Home of the Wild Burros and the wild donkey Democrats who now own Route 66.

No Korans = No Defamation

Is this a brilliant idea on my part, or not? Or am I just using common sense? Obviously, neither brilliance nor common sense were in great supply at the U.S. Pentagon when the Handling of the Koran Memorandum was created. On May 17, 2005, Robin Wright, Washington Post Staff Writer, wrote on page A03 of that issue: U.S. Long Had Memo on Handling of Koran
"More than two years ago, the Pentagon issued detailed rules for handling the Koran at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, ... The three-page memorandum, dated Jan. 19, 2003 ... written a year after the first detainees were brought to Guantanamo from Afghanistan, reflects what U.S. officials said was a specific policy on handling the Koran, one of the most sensitive issues to Muslims. The Pentagon does not have a similar policy regarding any other major religious book and takes 'extra precautions' on the Muslim holy book, officials said.

"'They're not supposed to in any way disrespect or desecrate the Koran, and there are a very specific set of rules the military has on handling the Koran,' State Department spokesman Richard A. Boucher said yesterday. 'We made it clear that our practices and our policies are completely different' from allegations in a Newsweek article that the magazine formally retracted yesterday. The Newsweek report said that U.S. military investigators had confirmed that a U.S. interrogator at Guantanamo had flushed a copy of the Koran down a toilet."
Here are the Pentagon's official rules for handling The Holy Book of Islam, which I have gleaned from the Washington Post article:
  • The Holy Book of Islam is not to be placed in 'offensive areas such as the floor, near the toilet or sink, near the feet, or dirty/wet areas.'
  • Only Muslim chaplains and Muslim interpreters can handle The Holy Book of Islam, and only after putting on clean gloves in full view of detainees.
  • U.S. Muslim personnel must use both hands when touching the Koran to show "respect and reverence".
  • U.S. Muslim personnel must use only the right hand to manipulate any part of the book "due to cultural associations with the left hand*."
  • U.S. Muslim personnel should treat The Holy Book of Islam like a "fragile piece of delicate art".
  • U.S. personnel are not to disrespect or desecrate the Koran, The Holy Book of Islam, in any way whatsoever!
  • U.S. Military Police are prohibited from touching the Koran, The Holy Book of Islam.
  • When moving The Holy Book of Islam from a cell, it must be placed on a "clean, dry detainee towel". It must then be wrapped in such a way as to not turn it over at any time. Muslim chaplains must then document that while The Holy Book of Islam is in transit that it is never placed in any offensive area.
As anyone can see, the Pentagon's rules are quite complicated. Although it would take considerable effort to flush a Koran in a toilet, many of these rules could be innocently forgotten by someone from another culture, such as an American GI, a truck driver, a janitor, etcetera. Meanwhile, Muslim terrorists worldwide are using the Holy Book of Islam as explosive booby traps, as bombs. These same people blow up Mosques where Korans are stored and they explode the Muslims there who are praying and holding and reading the Koran.

Even more outrageous, Muslim extremists interpret the teachings of the Koran to give them license to commit mayhem upon unbelievers, such as the citizens of the United States. Why are we providing this Most Holy Book of Islam to the Muslim potential terrorists that we hold in prison? By doing so, we are aiding and abetting those who plot against us. Why should we obey their rules?

If we were smart, we would NOT provide the Koran at all to Islamist detainees at Guantanamo. Instead, we would make available the Holy Bible, which is customary in "our culture". Let them use it as they will. Read it or don't. There are no capricious rules to fret about, as Pentagon officials say they take extra precautions only on The Holy Book of Islam. As quoted in the Washington Post: "The Pentagon does not have a similar policy regarding any other major religious book ... officials said." There will be no beheadings if one accidentally falls into the trash bin or is deliberately rendered. In our culture it is the words that are holy, not the printed books. It would be extremely rare, if known at all, for devout Christians or Jews, to use their Holy Book, as a murderous weapon. Contrast that with the happening of just a few hours ago in Pakistan, where a Muslim worshiper at a holy site blew up his fellow Muslim worshipers, killing and injuring scores, while spattering Muslim blood upon probably hundreds of the Holy Books of Islam.

I think ScrappleFace understands, as do I, as he is reporting today:
U.S. Blamed for Koran Harm in WTC Collapse, by Scott Ott

(2005-05-27) -- Muslims in Pakistan and Afghanistan rioted today in response to new reports that copies of the Koran were desecrated when two American buildings collapsed after being struck by American airplanes in September of 2001. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) revealed that fragments of the burned and soiled Korans were discovered in the ruins of the World Trade Center towers in New York City.
*In Muslim cultures the left hand is always considered unclean, as it is the hand used for toilet hygiene and implies rubbing off of the "unhygienic residue". In "1,000 and One Arabian Nights" enemies are referred to as "They of the Left Hand."

Beware Coca-Cola

What Will They Believe Next?
In 1886, Frank Mason Robinson designed an elegantly-written "Coca-Cola" label using flowing Spencerian script. Robinson was a partner with pharmacist John Pemberton and together they invented and named the beverage "Coca-Cola". This is the same Coca-Cola trademark that Muslims worldwide say is "anti Islam". Believe it or not, if you view the Coca-Cola label in a mirror, the script becomes Arabic and reads "No to Mohammed, No to Mecca", according to the web site, TheMuslimWoman.com.

Gates of Vienna describes it as "The Jihad that Refreshes" and writes further, "These are the dangers facing Muslim women today. To coin a phrase: You can't make this stuff up."

Snopes.com addressed this back in 2001, but who in the Muslim world would believe the likes of them?
Claim: Coca-Cola's script logo was designed to reveal anti-Islamic messages in its mirror image.
Status: False.
Origins: No one is quite sure how this rumor got started, but many in the Middle East are now turning the Coca-Cola logo towards a mirror to examine it for anti-Islamic statements. According to the current bit of misinformation being touted as truth, the backwards script reads: "No to Mohammed, No to Mecca."
"Islam is the fastest-growing religion in America, a guide and pillar of stability for many of our people..." (Hillary Rodman Clinton, Los Angeles Times, May 31, 1996, page 3)

Why John Bolton for the UN?

I found this video clip at one of the Dems' sites. It is from the Michael Moore site. The Libs are using the clip to try and make President Bush's choice for UN Ambassador look like the wrong choice. However, most conservatives would find this video reassuring.

We need a patriot like this: John Bolton and the UN (video/quicktime Object)

Holiday Indonesia or Malaysia?

Let's fly off to Bali. Think again! Especially, if you check baggage and leave it unlocked. I often wonder if this happened to me when I was flying from Phoenix, Arizona to Dulles, Virginia. I had some papers in the zippered side pocket of my suitcase. They completely disappeared although they were of no value to anyone else. Yet, the U.S. airlines, encourage us to leave our bags unlocked, in case they need to search inside for security reasons. Could this happen to you or to me?
Schapelle Corby - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Schapelle Leigh Corby (born 1977-07-10) [1] [2] is an Australian woman convicted of smuggling 4.1 kg of marijuana into Indonesia. On 2005-05-27, Schapelle Corby was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years jail. She was also fined IDR100,000,000 (AUD13,875), with an additional six months if the sum is not paid.
Wizbang blogs:
An Indonesian court has found Schapelle Corby, 26 year-old Australian beauty school student on holiday to Bali, guilty of drug smuggling and has sentenced her to 20 years. Corby was convicted smuggling 9 pounds of marijuana into Bali in an unlocked boogie board bad, though she has no criminal history and claimed in her defense that her bag was tampered with illicitly by baggage handlers in Australia is a drug running scheme. The verdict was broadcast live in Australia, where Corby's case has transfixed the nation. Schapelle Corby's story has received scant attention outside of Australia and Indonesia, ... .
GuruAnn's Blog is devoted to all things Schapelle Corby and today is a Sad Day for her:
"Not too much more to say except that I am devestated with the verdict of the Indonesian Courts for Schapelle Corby. When the verdict was given, I fell into a bit of a heap, but Schapelles strength made me gain my composure pretty quickly. I will continue to work with others to try and bring the girl home. She is innocent! Thanks to all my friends that contacted me soon after the verdict, I was a bit too upset to reply at the time."
Could Ms. Corby be truly guilty? If she is a smuggler, she is also an idiot, considering that cannabis grows wild and is readily available in Bali. She would have been "bringing coals to Newcastle". It seems unlikely to me that she is guilty or an idiot.

Please say a prayer for Schapelle Corby and her family. That is probably the only hope the young Australian woman has now. Believe it not, some, such as Nic White at The 52nd State, writes that she was judged very leniently by the Bali "justice" system. "Schapelle Corby has been found guilty of smuggling cannabis into Indonesia, and has been sentenced to a very lenient 20 years in a Bali jail." He continues claiming that because she was a woman, she was not punished by the more usual beheading. Thank God for such favors. The Aussies must be desperate to vacation in such an extremist country.

VIACOM - Via Contempt

Mother Teresa was a living saint during her earthly travail. I have always believed that no one would contradict that statement and that even non-believers would honor her service to the unclean poor of the streets in Calcutta. Just a year after her death, the Catholic Church began the process of beatification, overriding their usual five-year waiting period following the death of a candidate for sainthood. However, the giant media corporation VIACOM, is traveling the "Via Contempt" when portraying Christian saints and the Catholic religion. (Cartoon from http://www.cartoonistgroup.com)

Today, I am totally shocked to read of the profane charges against such a saintly women and her acolytes, under the sponsorship of an American corporation, VIACOM. According to yesterday's Catholic News Agency, the Catholic League
"is leading a charge, railing against the company, and their subsidiary, Showtime, for airing a program which they call 'a full frontal assault' on the late Mother Teresa and the Catholic Church. The program, 'Holier than thou', starring magician entertainers Penn and Teller, paints Mother Teresa and her Sisters of Charity as 'cruel, exploitative, self-serving nun[s] who ripped off the poor'.
Here is the Press Release from the Catholic League. I cannot write, nor repeat the vulgar, blasphemous, and supposedly humorous comments about her that were aired on VIACOM's television show, "Showtime", however you may read the horrid details at The Anchoress.

At the web site of the Columbia Journalism Review is a listing of all the companies that are owned by VIACOM:
"One of the largest global media empires, Viacom has a financial interest in broadcast and cable television, radio, Internet, book publishing, and film production and distribution. Some of this vertically integrated conglomerate's highly recognizable properties include the CBS network, MTV, Infinity broadcasting, Simon & Schuster, Blockbuster and Paramount Pictures. With such a diverse portfolio of properties, Viacom is one of the most profitable media giants as CBS is a top draw for older viewers while MTV remains the most popular teen orientated media outlet."
VIACOM itself has a web site too, but don't bother searching there for anything about Mother Teresa, as to them she seems not to have ever existed. I cannot help but wonder if VIACOM's "Showtime" is broadcast in Italy. If it is, will they be brought up on charges of defamation against religion, as was author Oriana Fallaci, when she wrote negatively about Islam in her latest book? In Italy, "a preliminary judge in the northern Italian city of Bergamo, Armando Grasso, ... said Fallaci should be indicted" for "inciting religious hatred" and "defaming Islam". Would defaming Christianity or Catholicism be considered a crime also? Somehow, I doubt it.

'Early-Death Incentives'

are part of the new planned Social Security System overhaul proposed by the Democrats, according to The Onion. This would be funny, if it were not true, and it is just one more reason why we need the Democrats to stay with their game plan of saving the old folks by "doing nothing". "Who really enjoys those last few years, anyway?" asked 76-year-old Herman Norquist of Mesa, AZ, one of millions of seniors who have already signed up for the plan known as "EDIP". "Better to enjoy five terrific, high-yield years of life than 15 low-yield ones."
"WASHINGTON, DC—Overwhelmed by a dearth of funds and a glut of recipients, the Social Security Administration unveiled a new 'Early-Death Incentives Plan' Monday. Under the terms of the program, senior citizens willing to sacrifice additional years of life will be eligible for larger payouts.

'As the Baby Boomers approach retirement age and U.S. life-expectancy continues to rise, we are forced to distribute Social Security funds to an ever-widening pool of recipients,' said Social Security Administration commissioner Kenneth S. Apfel, announcing the radical reform program. 'But with Early-Death Incentives, rather than force millions of retirees to eke out a meager subsistence on a small stipend for years, we can offer them a few years of high living, followed by guaranteed, permanent relief from being a burden on the American taxpayer.'"

Under the Early-Death Incentives Plan, retirees can double their monthly Social Security payouts by signing an agreement to perish within five years, or quadruple their payouts by dying within three. Those eligible can also opt for a six-month Accelerated Mortality Program, which pays $4,000 a month over a half-year period, provided the person ceases living at the conclusion of the agreed-upon term.

"A senior citizen who is receiving $300 dollars a month under the current Social Security system can barely get by," Apfel said. "But with EDIP, that same senior can substantially increase his or her quality of life simply by signing on for a slightly shortened term of existence. This will make it possible for recipients to eat out several times a week, purchase a nice, large TV to keep them company in their final days, and, at the end of the designated period, take a nice relaxing trip to anywhere in the world to die."

Deany Did the Deal

Yes - Yes - Yes, The Deany did it! According to The Museum of Left Wing Lunacy, Howard Dean, Chairman of the DNC, sent out the following e-mail today:
"We saw this week what we can do when we organize. Millions of Americans persuaded seven Republican Senators to abandon their leadership's drive for one-party rule. They joined Democrats to do what was right and protect check and balances.

Right-wing demagogues had declared their intention to win this fight at all costs -- this loss will loosen the death grip the right-wing has on the Republican Party.

We did this with organization -- with our petitions, phone calls and events. Most importantly, we reached out to each other and to people in our communities and mobilized them, too."
There you have it folks. The seven Senate RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) clomp-clomp to the tune of Dr. Dizzy Dean and his Deaniacs. Suzy Bird has a picture of the the "Insignificant Seven", with a caption that reads "They Folded Like a Cheap Card Table". You will see Big John McCain leading the pack. The Seven RINOs were: Lincoln Chafee, Rhode Island; the lady senators from Maine -Susan Collins; and Olympia Snowe; two senators from the South - John Warner, Virginia; Lindsey Graham, South Carolina; the Great One, Big John McCain, of Arizona; and Little Mike Dewine, The Insignificant, of Ohio. These seven heroes threw themselves on the Big Bomb, and saved the rest of us all from the "nuclear option" and certain destruction, while gathering effusive praise from Dr. Dean and the Dems. Purple Hearts to the wounded and Medals of Honor to the living dead.

ScrappleFace reported yesterday:
New McCain Deal Protects Democrat Electoral Rights, by Scott Ott
"(2005-05-25) -- Sen. John McCain, R-AZ, who earlier this week brokered a deal over judicial nominees to protect the rights of Democrats in the Senate, today announced a compromise with DNC Chairman Howard Dean which would effectively give Democrats the White House for three of the next five presidential terms."

Defaming Islam

Many of us recall the 1973 Broadway musical, "Jesus Christ Superstar", which shocked many Christians. All of us are old enough to remember 1988, when Muslim author Salman Rushdie published a novel about immigrants, "The Satanic Verses", which resulted in book burnings and killings world wide. In the late 1990s, Andres Serrano created the artwork, "Piss Christ", which was extremely blasphemous to Christians, considering that its exhibition had involved government funding and approval. Today, if you drive through Rutherford, North Carolina, you may see displayed upon one of those ubiquitous trailer signs in front of a country church, "The Koran Needs to be Flushed". Meanwhile, in Italy, another author has been brought up on charges for her recent book which defames Islam as being a religion of hatred and slavery, not love and freedom. Is it not time that Muslims who have chosen via immigration to live in free democratic societies, learn to accept freedom of speech for all? Or is that contrary to the teachings of the Koran? And speaking of the Koran, my understanding is that "The Holy Book of Islam" only exists when written in Arabic, where it is entitled "al-qur'anu l-karîm". If that is correct, then why should "flushing a Koran" be a killing offense at all?
Fallaci charged in Italy with defaming Islam:
"ROME (Reuters) - A judge has ordered best-selling writer and journalist Oriana Fallaci to stand trial in her native Italy on charges she defamed Islam in a recent book.

The decision angered Italy's justice minister but delighted Muslim activists, who accused Fallaci of inciting religious hatred in her 2004 work 'La Forza della Ragione' (The Force of Reason). Fallaci lives in New York and has regularly provoked the wrath of Muslims with her outspoken criticism of Islam following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on U.S. cities.

In 'La Forza della Ragione,' Fallaci wrote that terrorists had killed 6,000 people over the past 20 years in the name of the Koran and said the Islamic faith 'sows hatred in the place of love and slavery in the place of freedom.'

State prosecutors originally dismissed accusations of defamation from an Italian Muslim organization, and said Fallaci should not stand trial because she was merely exercising her right to freedom of speech. But a preliminary judge in the northern Italian city of Bergamo, Armando Grasso, rejected the prosecutors advice at a hearing on Tuesday and said Fallaci should be indicted."
From North Carolina comes this sign posted in front of Danieltown Baptist Church, which has sparked debate in Rutherford County about religious tolerance. The Looney Left has the video (Quicktime Video 6.35MB) from Keith Olberman's show, with the usual outrageous comments such as: "creaton! too perfect. don't worry, he does not represent mainstream america. they have to go to the freaky south to dig up these yokels. this **** is what will destroy the religious right. keep it coming." (Posted by pablo at OneGoodMove). You will have to ask Pablo what is a "creaton", as here in the South, we yokels don't know nothin' much about good English.
Church sign sparks debate

By JOSH HUMPHRIES Daily Courier Staff Writer

FOREST CITY -- A sign in front of a Baptist church on one of the most traveled highways in the county stirred controversy over religious tolerance and first-amendment rights this weekend.

A sign in front of Danieltown Baptist Church, located at 2361 U.S. 221 south reads "The Koran needs to be flushed," and the Rev. Creighton Lovelace, pastor of the church, is not apologizing for the display.

Seema Riley, a Muslim, who was born in Pakistan and reared in New York, was one of those upset by the sign. She moved to Rutherford County for the "small town friendly" atmosphere, she said. When she saw the sign on the side of the highway Saturday she felt angered and threatened. "We need a certain degree of tolerance," said Riley. "That sign doesn't really reflect what I think this county is about."

She said that according to Islamic faith, a follower does not even touch the Koran without going through a ritual cleansing. Muslims believe the physical book to be a sacred item that is treated with respect and reverence, much like the image of Jesus in Christianity, according to a report on National Public Radio.

"For someone to put that sign up -- the person just didn't understand -- didn't take into consideration what putting up that sign means," said Riley. "I don't think it should be posted on a sign in public viewing on the highway to create a hostile environment for me."
To those newcomers who are uncomfortable living in free societies, and consider the environment to be too hostile, we have an old saying in America: "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

McCNN - New News Network

I have often wondered how it is that Arizona's Senator McCain manages to get any Senate work done, because of his repeated appearances on television. Jerhad!com agrees with me and are reporting:
McCain Launching Cable News Network
"WASHINGTON, DC --- Senator John McCain announced plans to start his own cable news network today in order to get more time in front of a camera. Frustrated that he can only get the main news networks to interview him for a few hours each day, McCain has plans to launch the McCain News Network (McCNN)."

"It's important that I am on television as much as possible," said McCain. "I'm not very popular with the majority of Republicans, but being on television all of the time gives the impression that I'm very popular. And that's why I do this senate thing. To get on television. Now people can tune in 24-hours a day to see me strutting my stuff and undermining the GOP to get more attention. I'm a genius."

Holy Book of Islam

The holy book of Islam is al-qur'anu l-karîm. That is the Arabic word for what in English is commonly written as 'Koran', 'Quran', or 'Qur'an'. Apparently, for some unknown reason, only the latter is the correct English translation.

The University of Virginia refers on-line to al-qur'anu l-karîm, as the Koran and has turned it into an electronic version: The Koran at the Electronic Text Center, University of Virginia. The University of Michigan also has an electronic version of the Koran which is searchable at its website.

The University of Southern California has three translations of the Qur'an at its website, where they note: "any translation of the Qur'an immediately ceases to be the literal word of Allah, and hence cannot be equated with the Qur'an in its original Arabic form. In fact, each of the translations on this site is actually an interpretation which has been translated. The first-time reader is strongly advised to read the introduction to the translations we have made available. Corrections and suggestions are appreciated."

Catholic Encylopedia has a synopsis of the "Koran", from a Catholic viewpoint of course, which the describe as; "The sacred book of the Muslims, by whom it is regarded as the revelation of God. Supplemented by the so-called Hadith, or traditions, it is the foundation of Islam and the final authority in dogma and belief, in jurisprudence, worship, ethics, and in social, family, and individual conduct."

There is a site called Holy Quran Resource Group which has information on the Quran.

Scott Ott at Scrapple Face has an interesting post on the various names used for the Holy Book of Islam. Actually, I think he hits the nail on the head.
Muslims Riot Over Spelling of 'Koran' in U.S. Media
by Scott Ott,(2005-05-17) -- As many as 25 people died and dozens more were injured during riots in Afghanistan today which erupted over what one Muslim cleric called "the U.S. media's desecration-by-mispelling" of the name of Islam's most holy book.

Indeed, American editors have failed to reach consensus on how to render the holy book's name. Some spell it with a 'K' others with a 'Q' and -- perhaps most offensive to Muslim sensibilities -- some insert a meaningless apostrophe in the middle of the word.

Glee at Daily KOS

On May 14th the report from the popular liberal blog, Daily KOS was one of total happiness and unrestrained glee. Their post was "Flush a Koran; Flame a Fire", in which they used photographs to make a mathematical equation: "Koran + Toilet = Mass Hysteria", commenting "Is anyone suprised at this equation".

No, and no one is suprised by KOS's profound delight at discovering another story to trash the U.S. military, who are the "so-called perpetuators" of this violation of U.S. government policy. That official policy requires that the U.S. Army treat Muslim detainees with religious respect, allowing them time to pray, honoring their dietary restrictions and allowing them access to the Koran. Yet "Daily KOS" and its readers readily accept a story that claims what our enemies say about Guantanamo is true, rather than give the benefit of the doubt to our own soldiers. They continue to live in the days of Vietnam. They continue to show disrespect to those in uniform who everyday are protecting them from the evil that lurks in the hearts and souls of the barbarians who read the Koran for guidance and use the Koran as a booby trap to blow up mosques and the worshipers in them.

Today, May 17th, and yesterday, when Newsweek's retraction broke, what rant they at "Daily KOS"? They are now ranting about "supposed" censorship of the media by the Bush administration. As Liberal Fundamentalists, they continue to believe, even in the face of overwhelming proof to the contrary. As expected, there will be no apology to the American soldiers at Gitmo who are performing the extremely hazardous duty of guarding the most dangerous of the Islamist evil-doers from blowing us up.

Black Rednecks and Liberals

Thank God for Rednecks

Howard Dean, the Mean

The liberal Democrats can't stop lovin' their man. He is the "Mean Dean", and one mean man in a knife fight. Why just the other day Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Party, referred to the US House majority leader, Tom DeLay, as a convicted criminal, saying Delay "ought to go back to Houston where he can serve his jail sentence." What jail sentence? The Democrat audience loved it, as to their mind, any Republican in Texas has to be a crook. However, not all Democrats are appreciative of Doctor Dean's slurs. They were the final straw for Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank, as the extreme liberal said: "That's just wrong, I think Howard Dean was out of line talking about DeLay. The man has not been indicted. I don't like him, I disagree with some of what he does, but I don't think you, in a political speech, talk about a man as a criminal or his jail sentence." Representative Frank has been so bothered by the increasingly outlandish rhetoric of the Democrats under Dean's leadership, that he is obviously planning to do a "Jeffords". His code words when referring to the Republican Delay,"I disagree with some of what he (Delay) does", carries over to refer to the Republican party. Therefore, expect any day now for Mr. Frank to switch to the Republican side of the aisle, proving once again that the Republicans are indeed the "Big Tent Party".

Muslims Will Rule America

It is difficult for the civilized world to comprehend the hatred of the Muslim world. Christians and Americans would never expect to hear a sermon at their place of worship entitled "Muslims Will Rule America; Israel is a Cancer; Jews are a Virus Resembling AIDS; Muslims Will Finish Them Off'". However that is the title of last Friday's Palestinian Authority Sermon delivered by Sheik Ibrahim Mudeiris. The sheik declared that the Jews were the instigators of Nazism. These supposedly holy men are not truth seekers, they are hate seekers. They have a million reasons to declare Jihad against the West, and still that is not enough. They have recently found the million and one reason - desecration of the Koran. They burn American flags while proclaiming Jihad because their sacred Koran was supposedly disrespected. They demand that people living in freedom, obey their religious credo. They demand that our government handover those who have insulted the Koran to be appropriately punished, which we all know means beheadings. Do they not understand that the Koran is published on the Internet and anyone living in a free country can read it, print it, shred it, burn it, curse it, and yes, flush it, just as they can do with the Holy Bible or the American flag? Appeasement will not work with these barbarians.

Getting back to the hatefilled sermon, you may listen to the video. In fact, everyone should see this video to learn about who we are fighting. To view a transcript the sermon visit

"Allah has tormented us with 'the people most hostile to the believers' – the Jews. 'Thou shalt find that the people most hostile to the believers to be the Jews and the polytheists.' Allah warned His beloved Prophet Muhammad about the Jews, who had killed their prophets, forged their Torah, and sowed corruption throughout their history.

"With the establishment of the state of Israel, the entire Islamic nation was lost, because Israel is a cancer spreading through the body of the Islamic nation, and because the Jews are a virus resembling AIDS, from which the entire world suffers.

"You will find that the Jews were behind all the civil strife in this world. The Jews are behind the suffering of the nations."

Women Not Totally Superior

A new study at the University of Heidelberg in Germany has revealed that the bodies of women are not as resilient as those of men to the harmful effects of drinking alcohol. The BBC NEWS is reporting the results in the article 'Alcohol worse for female brains'.
"Women are far more vulnerable to alcohol-induced brain damage than men, scans have shown. CT pictures of the brains of more than 150 volunteers revealed how women come to more harm and quicker than men when they drink heavily. Scientists have suspected for some time that men might be more resilient to booze than women. The German research gives visible evidence of this.

"When the researchers analysed the brain scan results (of alcoholics) they found obvious evidence of brain damage among the heavy drinkers. The drinkers had smaller brains, due to loss or atrophy, than the controls."

WV Dems Support Risky Scheme

Columnist Don Surber of the Charleston Daily Mail is reporting that the West Virginia's Democrat Legislature is planning to invest the pension funds of state employees in stocks and bonds. This is known as "a risky scheme" by the Democrats representing West Virginia in Washington.
With their $5.5 billion pension bond proposal, Democrats in West Virginia are promising voters that Wall Street will average better than 7.5 percent returns annually for the next 30 years. Most of that money will be used to shore up the teacher pension plan.

If Wall Street is good enough for their teachers, then it should be good enough for my kids, who will face 30 percent cuts in their Social Security when they retire.

President Bush ought to visit West Virginia and endorse this pension bond plan--and double-dog-dare Sens. Bob Byrd and [Jay] Rockefeller to denounce the $5.5 billion pension bond as a "risky scheme."

Senator Byrd to be Gored by Horns?

FOXNews.com - Senate Nerves Frayed on Filibuster Fight: "During an hourlong exchange on the floor of the chamber, Senate dean Robert Byrd ... told Frist, 'Don't leave this as your legacy.' That was a reference to a Republican plan to eliminate minority Democrats' ability to block Bush's judicial choices with just 41 votes in the 100-member Senate.

'You have a shirttail full of nominees, and you're going to wreck Senate tradition,' Byrd said.

Annoyed, Frist pointed out that Byrd had promised to support holding confirmation votes. 'Didn't you also say as the other part of that statement to the president of the United States, being critical of the potential legacy I might have to leave in order to stand up for fairness and principle, didn't you also say you would give all of these nominees up-or-down votes?' asked Frist, ...

'I don't remember what I said,' Byrd replied, 'a few or all or three or four, I don't remember.'"
Watch the WMV Video from AttackMachine.com, of Senator Byrd's response when he realized that after 36 minutes of dithering blather, Senator Frist was not hearing any of it, as he had left the floor.

"I see the leader has left. He left me all alone here. What about this? Hey. Where is my adversary? Where is my worthy adversary? Am I to be left here alone, to be gored by the horns of those ... where is my adversary? He's not to be found." To legislators such as Bryd, governing the county is naught but a game between adversaries. Nevermind that the leaders elected by "We the People" are unable to accomplish what we want them to do. Could not the "ole Byrd" have just as much fun playing checkers in an old folks' home. And speaking of "OLD", why do you people in West Virginia keep sending this old Byrd back to Washington?

Algore Invented the Internet

Did not! Did so! Did not! Did so!

Although we can argue forever, the claim of the former Vice President, he IS getting a wee bit closer to winning his victory. On June 6th of this year, the organizers of the "Webby Awards" for online achievements, will give Algore "a lifetime achievement award for three decades of contributions to the Internet". They will also distribute barf bags to the audience members. When the Internet was created Algore was but a youth of twenty-one. Before the age of thirty, he was a fully functioning United States Congressman, and was ready and able to usurp credit for the work of a military project under a Pentagon task force, which did the grunt work of "Internet Inventing" eight years prior to Gore's election. Taking a lesson from another southern former congressman turned senator, Bye Bye Byrdie, who is infamous for financing with other states' money, the four lane "highways to nowhere" throughout West Virginia, Algore outdid even the Byrd by inventing and building the "Information Super Highway". Unfortunately for the would be United States President, somewhere along that Super Highway, between Tennessee and West Virginia, Mr. VP Algore crashed and burned in the year 2000.

It seems that some in the blogoshere are pleased with the "Webby Awards" selection. A moonbat named "nonny" at ANONYMOSES writes
Gore to Get Lifetime Award for Internet, while Bush still tries to make money for Oil Companies

If Bush weren't dyslexic, would he then read the Internets?

The Man who won the Popular vote in 2000, and who should be president, has received some of the honors he deserves. Meanwhile Bush is trying his best to bring America to its knees, and doing a pretty good job. Under Clinton, no one would have thought or predicted the decline or demise of America. Not so anymore. And if we are stupid enough to elect another Republican after George, the nails in the coffin of our dying country will be hammered shut, and down we go. I'm reminded of a scene in "Patch Adams" where the nefarious administrator is trying to tell Patch how it is done, and Patch says bluntly, "But you suck at it!" Republicans: You suck at governing. Under your daft "leadership" there is no chance of there being exuberance, rational or otherwise. Only terror, war and manufactured fear works to your ends. The more astute of the duped are figuring this out.
Hey, Moonbats, you forgot the "Moonbat Yell" -- "Halliburton!" Think you can guess which blog won the Webby Awards? BOING - GO!
The winners of the annual Webby Awards, hailed as the "Internet industry's Oscars," were announced yesterday. Nationalgeographic.com's Forces of Nature site grabbed the People's Voice award in the science category, and National Geographic News was recognized as Webby Worthy. Other winning Web sites ranged from powerhouses like Yahoo! to lesser-known sites such as the blog Boing Boing.

We Have Forgotten

William Barret Travis penned the famous "Victory or Death" letter "To The People of Texas and All Americans In The World -- February 24, 1836" while the military contingent he was commanding was under siege by Santa Anna. On March 3, 1836, Colonel Travis scribed his last known letter, before the fall of the Alamo, addressed to David Ayers.
"Take care of my little boy. If the country should be saved, I may make for him a splendid fortune; but if the country be lost and I should perish, he will have nothing but the proud recollection that he is the son of a man who died for his country."
On the morning of March 6, 1836, the twenty-six year old Colonel died at his post on the cannon platform at the northeast corner of the fortress . For many years the sacrifices of those brave men were remembered by the call to "Remember the Alamo". Today the Alamo is forgotten and its history is being rewritten.

Revise The Alamo!

In 1836, Spanish Texas was fighting to become an independent republic. William Barret Travis commanded a small but valiant Texas force that held off the Mexican Army at the Battle of the Alamo. The Texans were defeated. Colonel Travis wrote a letter during the famous battle which has become a sacred document to Texans today. Travis pleaded in the letter for reinforcements, which never came.
To The People of Texas and All Americans In The World -- February 24, 1836

Fellow citizens & compatriots --I am besieged by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna ... I have sustained a continual Bombardment and cannonade for twenty-four hours and have not lost a man. The enemy has demanded surrender at discretion, otherwise, the garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken. I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, and our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I shall never surrender or retreat. ... Victory or Death.”
Today Moonbattery blogs --
The Alamo is one of the most sacred shrines in the history of American democracy. The structure became known as "the cradle of Texas liberty" when 189 volunteers declined opportunities to retreat and fought to the death while holding off the vastly superior army of the ruthless and megalomaniacal Mexican dictator Santa Anna. These heroes held out for 13 days before they were killed, taking with them around 1,600 Mexican soldiers. After the battle of Goliad, where Santa Anna's troops exterminated a rebel army after it had surrendered, the Texans turned the tide at San Jacinto, rallying themselves with the cries "Remember Goliad!" and "Remember the Alamo!" as they routed Santa Anna's forces. "Remember the Alamo!" is a stirring cry to this day. It summarizes in three words the heroic devotion to freedom that makes this country such an honor to live in. These three words are precious not just to Texas, but to America. So although it is thoroughly appalling, it's hardly surprising that the Left would want to take these three priceless words away from us.

Bolton Wins Bully Pulpit at UN

According to Scott Ott reporting today at ScrappleFace, the confirmation hearings in the Senate have proven that Bolton is indeed a bully and a terrorist boss. Ott writes that the thoroughly terrified US Senators, Democrats and Republicans alike, have finally been convinced and are set to confirm John Bolton.
'The Senators are intimidated by Bolton,' said one unnamed legislative aide. 'When faced with a threat like this, there are two natural responses -- fight or flight. The hearing room has been raging sea of adrenaline. The Senators can't take another day of Bolton's blunt talk and penetrating stare.'
President George Bush says that his inspired nomination of John Bolton to work at the United Nations, has been proven correct, for the U.N. Ambassadorship is 'a bully pulpit'.

Jon Stewart's Take on Blogs

The MSM has hopped onto the blog wagon, Stewart is reporting of The Blog Phenomenon. CNN has two Vassar graduates reading blogs on TV, the latest of which was from "Skippy the Bush Kangeroo". You can even watch webcams of blogs on many of the MSM news shows. John says MSNBC has used blogs to "give voice to the already voiced", tauting the blogs of Chris Matthews, Ken Oberman and Joe Scarborough. Rob Corddry reports on "The Daily Show" that the bloggers themselves are protesting the readings of their blogs on news shows saying it is illustrative of the laziness of professional journalists. He then illustrates by reading one himself; "It seems the only thing these TV assclowns know how to do is to read blogs out loud directly off of a computer screen."

Is Harry a Racist?

I report, you decide.

What’s wrong with Harry? A lot, if you’re a Democrat. However, if you are a Republican or Conservative, he is just about perfect! This leader of the Senate Democrats has a way of displaying the true traits of his party, which are usually successfully obfuscated. For example, when he denigrated the intelligence of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, saying his court opinions were "poorly written", it was a blatant example of stereotyping the Justice because he is black, as Senator Reid has never come up with any examples to prove his point.

On "Meet the Press", 5 December 2004, Tim Russert asked the Nevada Senator for his view of Clarence Thomas, to which Reid replied:
"I think that he has been an embarrassment to the Supreme Court. I think that his opinions are poorly written. I don't--I just don't think that he's done a good job as a Supreme Court justice."
Again, last Friday, he impugned another black jurist. The Las Vegas Review-Journal is reporting on an appearance by Senator Harry Reid, the Democrat minority leader, at a Las Vegas high school:
Reid took students through a primer of the five most-disputed judicial nominees, arguing some were opposed to the 1973 Roe v. Wade case legalizing abortion. He charged others with trying to dismantle government programs like Social Security. “I don't want them. I think they're bad people," Reid said of the nominees. He described California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown, a favored Republican of President Bush, as an African-American opposed by the Congressional Black Caucus. "She is a woman who wants to take us back to the Civil War days," Reid said. (Hat Tip to Best of the Web)
A black American who refuses to be bound to the Black Caucus Plantation, saying “yessuh” and “yesmam” to all of its commands, is, according to the Nevada Senator and the Democrats he leads, no better than that bad ole “Uncle Tom” of Civil War days.

This comes on the heels of Reid’s calling the President "a loser" while Mr. Bush was abroad, representing the United States of America. One continues to wonder at the loyalty of black Democrats to their party, when it describes American blacks who have attained the high rank of jurist, as "an embarrassment to the ... Court" and "bad people". Whose intelligence is Senator Harry Reid insulting when he declares of a highly educated black female, daughter of sharecroppers in the deep South, "She ... wants to take us back to the Civil War days"? Those black Democrats who believe that last statement deserve to have their intelligence impugned and they deserve to be Democrats.

The Huff and Puffington Blog

Today, new webmistress, Arianna Huffington, is launching a 300-person blog, the Huffington Post, mostly featuring her famous liberal friends, including Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Geffen, Rob Reiner, Albert Brooks, Bill Maher, Larry David, David Mamet, Norman Lear, Mike Nichols, Ellen DeGeneres, John Cusack, Laurie David, Walter Shapiro, Aaron Sorkin, Walter Cronkite, Gary Hart, Arthur Schlesinger, Mort Zuckerman, Vernon Jordan and Bobby Kennedy Jr. She is also tauting a few conservatives such as John Fund, Tony Blankley and David Frum. She has even lined up some college kids and an 11-year-old. "My dream is that we'll create new blogging stars," she says, according to Blogstyles of the Rich and Famous by Howard Kurtz.

Huffingtonpost.com enters the blogoshere with a dozen investors and seven paid staffers. It will sell advertising and syndicate weekly highlights.
Radio host and "Simpsons" voice Harry Shearer moderates an "Eat the Press" section. "M*A*S*H" creator Larry Gelbart contributes. What a way to begin blogging!

The Huff and Puffington Blog has a respectable blogroll, however, it does not link Kerfuffles. Who cares? The rest of us, can count and taut the number of pajama sets we own. Perhaps that will mean something, to someone, somewhere in the ever expanding blogoshere.

Dirty Harry at Jackson's Junction thinks Mistress Huffington's blog will succeed. He writes: "But blogs don't cost much, celebrities love to make fools of themselves ...".

Michelle Malkin is recommending "Laurence Simon's monitoring of all the Huffers' puffing so you don't have to."
Pssst, did you hear? Arianna Huffington's new celebrity/grass-roots/pundit elite/progressive/whatever blog launches today. I'm informing you because, as the Huffers tell us, those evil, corporatist media meanies don't allow enough little voices to be heard. As Hollywood moonbat-turned-Huffington blogger Laurie David crowed: "The Huffington Post is going to balance the power out there that the media has had forever."
The Anchoress writes:
"I think I will miss that untamed, unpredictable blogosphere. ... I am and will always remain, alone…but the writing on the wall seems to suggest to me that blogs will begin to coalesce (or congeal) into larger entities kept up and running by these 'collectives. What began as a daring and free-wheeling experiment will - it is inevitable - become mainstream. Actually, with the opening of Huffington’s place, that has already happened."
UPDATE: Arianna's Hollywood buds seem none too happy with her blog, declaring it a miserable failure already, in this piece from "LA Weekly" by Nikki Finke:
"Arianna's Blog Blows: It almost seems like some sick hoax. Perhaps Huffington is no longer a card-carrying progressive but now a conservative mole. Because she served up liberal celebs like red meat on a silver platter for the salivating and Hollywood-hating right wing to chew up and spit out."

Old Joke Shocks Washington

"Laura leaves 'em laughing, gasping" headlines the The Washington Times: Nation/Politics - May 02, 2005. What in the world did Laura Bush say that has the nation's movers and shakers condemning her monologue as immodestly laced with sexual overtones? Is this just another example of the divide between the country mice and the city mice of our country? Do the urbanites of the blue parts of the country, not understand red state living?
'Laura Bush cracks risque jokes at the White House Correspondents' dinner,' sniffed Agence France-Presse. CNN reporter Elaine Quijano, who attended the dinner, also apparently had her sensibilities scarred by some of the first lady's quips. 'In some respects, I think for some folks it was a little shocking because she kind of crossed the line a little bit in some people's minds,' she said. 'It was very risque,' the Nation's David Korn said yesterday on Fox News. 'I was wondering what the social conservatives and James Dobson had to say about all these jokes that were laced with sexual innuendo. Not a very family-values-type speech.'
The principle shocker for the Washington elite was a generations old joke that country folk recite in various ways to poke fun at city slickers and their lack of understanding of farm life biology. Mrs. Bush recited the joke using her husband, the president, as the city slicker who lacked ranching skills because "the elite schools he attended, Andover and Yale, 'don't have a real strong ranching program. He's learned a lot about ranching since that first year when he tried to milk the horse. What's worse, it was a male horse.' " After laughing uproariously at this old canard, the anointed ones started raising eyebrows, condemning the joke's sexual innuendo, and using that as a way to cast wicked aspersions onto the President.

This unbelievable reaction is actually quite believable when one considers whose eyebrows were raised. These are the people who obsess on all sorts of perversions. They find perverted behavior under every rock, if the rock is in a red state. Look at the map. These are the folks who live in the blue areas of the country, the metropolitan areas. Milking a cow, at one time, was an everyday skill of American life and most people knew how to do it. Today, among the anointed libertines of our cities' societies, it seems to be a kind of sexually perverted act.

These Billy Bob jokes have been around since probably the founding of our nation. Even today there is a joke making the rounds about either a dumb blond or a dumb Democrat who requests to choose one sheep from a shepherd's herd. In this particular joke, the dumb blond or Democrat chooses the shepherd's dog. The country folk, or rubes as they are known by blue staters, know about the workings of these things. They would indeed like to see the gentrified come down to the farm and try to milk a stallion, because they know that those high and mighty uppity-ups would be kicked all the way to kingdom come by that royally ticked-off horse.

Bill Maher Is Sick, Sick, Sick

Bill Maher and the audience of Craig Ferguson's television show seem to find pedophilia amusing and a source of humor. Who knew there were so many sick-o's in LaLa land? View the video for yourself here: What's driving you crazy? (QuickTime Required - Download Here)

Not only is Maher morally retarded, his thought processes defy logic, as when he condemns the entire country for its fascination with Michael Jackson:
"People don't follow what's important. ... All they care about is the Michael Jackson trial. And I have to say I watch it every night also. I watch the reenactment every single night. I find it fascinating and I find it telling. It speaks about so many things that are wrong with this country, the least of which is Michael Jackson." ~~Bill Maher, 5 May 2005
At this comment the audience erupts in laughter. That only encourages Maher to come up with a pun about Jackson and pedophilia, which elicits the response Bill Maher expects, more laughter and applause. He continues, becoming even more outrageous as he describes the relationships between Michael Jackson and the young boys. His behavior becomes so contemptuous that even Ferguson displays revulsion. This man, Bill Maher, is a disgusting human being, and both he and Michael Jackson are the poster boys for what is wrong with our culture today. They should be wearing large red letter "P"'s upon their chests to warn parents and children of their horrible sickness. And those members of the audience who laughed and applauded should also be condemned and shunned.
Bill Maher was a guest on Craig Ferguson's show the other night, and answered Craig's question; what's driving you crazy. The answer, our country is becoming a theocracy, the tabloid culture, and our perspective about crime. He used the Michael Jackson case to make his point.

'The whole country is becoming a theocracy... People have no perspective about crime ... I was savagely beaten once by bullies in the school yard... If I had a choice of being savagely beaten or gently XXXXX by a pop star—It's just me'
When we see and hear the real Bill Maher, it is quite easy to believe that he was in fact "savagely beaten .. by bullies in the school yard".

I ♥ Kerfuffles

The New Kerfuffles is unabashedly dedicated to the one and only James Taranto of Best of the Web at OpinionJournal.com.
Hat Tip to BIRD and also to WuzzaDem, who writes "Do you know a web site or blog that repeats the same theme over and over?" How about this one: There's a War On! Here is another: I ♥ Kerfuffles.

Neddy is highly honored by the kerfuffle flattery.

UPDATE: Kerfuffles is in the Google News! Google Kerfuffles, and a tip of the hat to Abe of Lincoln.

'South Park Conservatives'

Remember when Al Franken was tauted to be the liberal version of the mighty Rush Limbaugh? It would be "oh so" easy, thought the "powers-that-were", however it just did not work out for them. Franken was not only NOT funny, he was NOT fun to listen to, being extremely tedious and boring. Recently, author and political journalist Brian Anderson, has written a best selling book which exposes the stranglehold that liberalism has held on the communications industry for the last twenty or thirty years. In it he reveals "that the era of liberal dominance is going the way of the dodo bird".
Scott Ott at ScrappleFace is now reporting
"DNC Funds Rebuttal to 'South Park Conservatives': (2005-05-05) -- The Democrat National Committee (DNC) today announced it would fund publication of a book to challenge the thesis of the new bestseller ' South Park Conservatives: The Revolt Against Liberal Media Bias', by Manhattan Institute editor Brian Anderson. The rebuttal book, 'Looney Tunes Liberals: The Peoples' Revolt Against Wacky Accusations of Media Bias', will 'chronicle the grassroots backlash by progressive Americans against the right-wing conspiracy to label news organizations as left-leaning,' an unnamed DNC spokesman said."
According to Scrapple Face, the DNC hired New York Times columnist Frank Rich to write 'Looney Tunes Liberals' because of the outsanding review of the conservative book that Rich was able to write after reading only the dustcover. "Conservatives ♥ 'South Park'", wrote Frank Rich on May 1, 2005. He continued, "Emboldened by the supposed 'moral values' landslide on Election Day, the faith-based right became the new left." Mr. Rich's forthcoming book will contain twice as many pages as the conservative book, therefore it has to be superior in every way.

None of My Business

Today in OpinionJournal , Peggy Noonan, has some good advice, with which I most heartily concur.
"Too Much Information? Sometimes people should keep their private lives to themselves.

I was at a wedding, standing just off the dance floor, when a pleasant young man in his 20s approached, introduced himself and asked where I'd had my hair done. I shook his offered hand and began to answer, but before I could he said, 'I'm gay, by the way.' I nodded as if this were my business, but thought: I wonder why a total stranger thinks I want to know what he wishes to do with his genitals? What an odd way to say hello.

We live in a time in which people routinely violate their own privacy. I don't think the young man lacked a sense of privacy. I suspect if I'd said, 'Tell me your annual salary,' he would have bridled. That's personal.

Maybe he wanted me to approve ('That's wonderful!') or disapprove ('Unclean!'). Maybe he felt compelled to announce his orientation because homosexuals are so often told that not to declare is to be closeted, and to be closeted is shameful. Maybe he was doing what he thinks he must to do to show integrity.

Whatever his thinking, it has occurred to me that in the old, clucking, busybody America it was not unusual to meet people who needed to be told, 'That's none of your business.'

But in the new and infinitely stranger America there are a lot of people who need to be told, 'Buddy, that's none of my business.'"

Don't Mess with the U.S.

Chrenkoff shows the before and after results of dissing America.

I am Ajai Raj, and I am a jackass.

What is it about Ann Coulter that drives moonbats out into the broad daylight? Blinded by their moonbattery, they fly into one another again and again until they become even more batty, while fluttering unconscious into the midst of the sane. Here is Ajai Prasad Raj, liberal hero du jour, who was arrested for his activities at a university gathering where Republican parents believed it was safe to bring young children. The Smoking Gun has his mug shot and rap sheet, of which the other side seems so proud, that documents his arrest for "abusive, profane, and vulgar language and obscene gesture" at the LBJ Library Auditorium in Austin, Texas. As Mr. Raj recounts his heroic acts, referring to himself as "a jackass", his fawning fellow moonbats are condeming his arrest as an assault on the First Amendment.

Kevin at WizBang writes
University of Texas student Ajai Raj who was arrested at a campus speech by Ann Coulter. Raj tells his story of juvenile vulgarity at Daily Kos, winning him adoring cheers from the denizens of the Kozosphere for his gross display of asshattery.
At Daily Kos they are breathlessly clinging to every last word of the Raj's "Open Letter to Anyone Who Gives a ..." in which he gloats upon his three minutes of fame in "The Texan", on CBS and in the "Austin-American Statesman". "The general idea is that some jackass made a scene," he writes. "I am Ajai Raj, and I am a jackass."

Oh, most honored one, you are not only Raj, but you are RIGHT!

Right Wing Nuthouse hits the nail on the head with
GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME A MOONBAT - This has to be considered one of the most riotously ridiculous, self-aggrandizing, solipsistic, and sophomoric examples of liberal buffoonery in history. ... It really does take a special kind of nitwit to be a moonbat. And judging from this discourse by Mr. Raj, he’s going to need nitwit lessons to catch up.
