For many years the sacrifices of those brave men were remembered by the call to "Remember the Alamo". Today the Alamo is forgotten and its history is being rewritten.

We Have Forgotten
William Barret Travis penned the famous "Victory or Death" letter "To The People of Texas and All Americans In The World -- February 24, 1836" while the military contingent he was commanding was under siege by Santa Anna. On March 3, 1836, Colonel Travis scribed his last known letter, before the fall of the Alamo, addressed to David Ayers.
